Animal enclosure at the Kellerwiese
Donkeys, dwarf goats and sheep are waiting to be stroked
Residents of the Kellerwiese
Our enclosures for donkeys, pygmy goats and sheep are a special attraction for many of our visitors, especially for children. Our animals are happy to be visited. They are regularly fed with species-appropriate food and regularly checked by the veterinarian. The 6 sheep and 4 dwarf goats are housed on the lower part of the slope. There they have direct access to the stable. The sheep are sheared 1-2 times a year and their sheep wool is sometimes processed regionally. A board on the stable building informs about the names and characteristics of the animals.
The enclosure in the upper part of the slope belongs to the two male donkeys, which are about 3 years old: Benjamin, the black donkey, originally comes from the Nature Park Geras, the gray donkey Willi comes from Bavaria. Occasionally you can hear their calls for petting everywhere in Purkersdorf.
Please don't feed the animals because inappropriate food makes the animals sick.
Access & reachability
The animal enclosures are located right next to the Kellerwiese nature park access, which can be reached in a few minutes from the Purkersdorf Zentrum train station via the P&R parking lot and the nature park bridge over the B44.

Unfortunately, there are sometimes damages caused by vandalism. Please inform us if you notice damage to our facilities so that we can react quickly accordingly.
We want the willow maze near the playground to grow into a real maze. We therefore ask you to look out for planted willow cuttings.
