"Open your eyes" (2018-19)
For keen eyes of young researchers!
With our "Open your eyes" campaign, we have specifically targeted young nature park researchers to help us document rare animals and plants. On a "treasure map", we have indicated where the habitats of the species we are looking for can be found.
In 2018 and 2019, we encouraged our young visitors to document their observations of special animals and plants with a competition as part of our "Open your eyes" ("Augen-Auf") campaign. Of course, we also wanted the campaign to be fun, so we included a few "more common" species in the search task and also developed a special treasure map on which selected locations were marked.
If researchers made a sighting, they could report it with a photo by post or email and help us to document the occurrences.
Both the observation folders and the treasure map helped us to discover natural treasures and highlight potential sites.
