The Wienerwaldgasthaus Klugmayer is a traditional inn directly adjacent to the Purkersdorf Nature Park, with which there has been a long-standing cooperation for decades. The Gasthaus Klugmayer first opened its doors around 1920. 20 years ago, a cooperation agreement was signed with the nature park and the inn bore the name “1st Nature Park Inn” for many years.
It has been a successful partnership over the past few years, as demonstrated by the joint construction and use of the barbecue area for children's birthday parties and educational forest outings. To strengthen regional cooperation, Wienerwaldgasthof Klugmayer received the Nature Park Gastronomy Partner award in autumn 2023, which was also awarded by the Nature Parks of Lower Austria in summer 2024.
Working together for more sustainability
Catering and accommodation establishments of various types can become partner businesses. The basic requirement is a location in a nature park or in a nature park municipality. Other criteria include sharing the values of the nature parks and actively supporting the nature park idea. Nature park partner businesses inform their guests about regional and seasonal food, the special cultural landscape and biodiversity in the region, climate-friendly travel and nature park offers in the spirit of a good partnership.
