The green anteroom of Vienna

The Purkersdorf Nature Park is located in a protected area on the western outskirts of Vienna. A visit in spring is particularly worthwhile because of the wonderful scent of wild garlic. In summer the old beech forests form hall-like, shady stands, so that it is always pleasantly cool and especially after a rainshower you can smell the greenery in the air. Autumn beckons with its vibrant play of colors when the leaves of maple or red beech turn from green to different shades of yellow and red. In winter you can follow the animal tracks in the snow and roam the white glittering forest.
